About Priscilla

My gorgeous husband and I

Hello Everyone!

I am a K-5 Specials teacher who absolutely loves to soak up new information!  I can never get back to my classroom quick enough so that I can implement what amazing things I learned.

My husband and I touring Chicago by bike.
I graduated from Austin College (in Sherman, Texas) in '07 with my Bachelor of Arts and '08 with my Master of Arts in Teaching.

I have a wonderful husband who I have been happily married to for 14 years.  We have a daughter that we absolutely adore and love taking to the parks in our new neighborhood.

This past spring break we took our 6 year old daughter to Disney World for her 7th birthday! It was so much fun to see her get all dressed up like a princess!

I also have 2 cats named Snuggles and Archie.
Ashlyn, our daughter, just LOVES our cats!  She cannot get enough of them.   She takes after her mom,
because I am a cat lover like nobody's business.  Archie is a very playful kitten who needs to get his energy out. Snuggles and Ashlyn are always happy to help with that!

This will be my 13th year of teaching. I am a proud teacher at Richard J. Lee Elementary, which is my dream school.  I am so excited about the opportunity to work in a Net Zero school!!! Anyone who knows me, knows that I live green.

I love to read and I have a large collection of books.  My favorite genres are historical and inspirational fiction, but I like to read just about anything.  I am currently in between books.  Maybe you could recommend a good historical fiction one?

I have spent many hours in my local public library, browsing the shelves for a good read.  Summer is a time when I can read until past my bedtime and not worry about what time I have to wake up in the morning.

I honestly can't see myself in any profession besides education.  Education breaks cycles and empowers people to discover their true potential.  I want to be a part of the learning process for my students.  I want to nurture and encourage their confidence and self-directed learning.  I look forward to all of the challenges and opportunities that this new school year holds for me, my fellow educators, and my students.

Yikes! This was a bit scary at the Willis Tower in Chicago.

Thanks for stopping by!

Priscilla
